Our Story
Destiny Dance was founded with a vision to create a welcoming studio where dancers of all ages and abilities could explore their passion for movement. What began as a small studio with just three classes has grown into a thriving community of dancers.
With over 20 weekly classes spanning multiple dance styles and regular performances throughout the year, our mission is to inspire confidence, creativity, and technical excellence in a supportive environment that celebrates the joy of dance.
Meet Our Instructors
Maria Johnson
20+ years professional experience
Co-founder of Destiny Dance with over 20 years of professional dance experience. Maria trained at the Royal Ballet School in London and performed with several prestigious companies before dedicating herself to teaching. Her passion lies in helping students discover their unique artistic voice through classical and contemporary dance.
David Chen
15+ years teaching experience
Co-founder and lead hip hop instructor. David is a self-taught dancer who rose through the LA street dance scene before earning his BFA in Dance. His teaching style combines technical precision with creative freedom, encouraging students to develop their own movement vocabulary.
Sophia Rivera
12 years professional experience
Sophia brings 12 years of professional jazz and tap experience to Destiny Dance. A graduate of the Alvin Ailey School, she has performed on Broadway and in national tours. Her infectious energy and detailed approach to rhythm make her classes both challenging and incredibly fun.
James Okafor
10 years teaching experience
James specializes in contemporary and lyrical dance, bringing emotional depth and storytelling to every class. With a Masters in Dance from NYU Tisch, he combines academic knowledge with real-world performance experience to create transformative learning experiences.
Luna Park
8 years teaching experience
Luna is our specialist in children's dance education. With a background in early childhood development and dance pedagogy, she creates magical, age-appropriate classes that build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of movement.
